// Graphic Shapes Exploration //

Starting with the basic shape of an 'X', I wanted to adjust its physical attributes as much as possible without losing the shape's defining characteristics. Finding the initial shape was surprisingly the most challenging and time-consuming part of this assignment for me. Once I settled on the shape, layering with overlay started to work like magic! For the first overlay, I focused primarily on incorporating the big, medium and small accents into the overall shape, ensuring that no element becomes lost or blurry. Adding the second overlay really started to define these X's, adding more complexity and depth to each one. It was very easy at this stage to make each 'X' too visually noisy, so I had to keep the idea of size distribution at front of my mind throughout this phase. The resulting displacement made me incredibly pleased, each 'X' has a different defining aesthetic, whether it is organic, sharp, or a hybrid between the two. Thank you, Pablo, for this amazing new technique. It feels like a game-changing new "cheat-code" for achieving incredibly complex yet cohesive designs. Can't wait to start the next assignment!
