Planning the Interior UI
Secondary Screens
Lesson 3 of 5 Mastering Film UI
This lesson will cover the process of designing the various supporting elements for your project. These designs will range in style, function and prominence within the scene.
Large Secondary Element Homework
Plan out which secondary design elements you might want to tackle in this lesson. Remember that your designs don't need to match Kris' project!
Then, design one of your larger secondary interfaces for this assignment. You'll have a chance to design your other planned elements later. Take your time with this step and have fun!
Note: You can find Kris' Illustrator template in this lesson's downloadable files. This template contains specific sizing info to let your designs match the plates included with the course.Small Secondary Elements Homework
Create the designs for all the smaller elements you plan to use in your project. Try to make these elements fit the overall design language you've established, while also keeping in mind their relative size to avoid adding too much detail.
Final UI Elements Homework
In this step, you'll wrap up anything else needed in order to finish your designs before the animation stage. This could involve revising earlier designs, or creating entirely new interfaces for the scene. Finally, make sure everything is cleaned up, named and organized in your project, in order to move smoothly into After Effects.
