  • Reviewing the Scene Homework

Render out your 3D scenes, bring them into Photoshop, and take a moment to look over your images. Are there any aspects you want to change in 3D before moving onto the refined sketch?

  • Prepping for Refined Sketch Homework

Follow through with any of the changes you marked out in the previous assignment, adjusting your 3D scenes or assets where needed. By the end of this assignment, you should be ready to begin your refined sketch.

  • Refining Terrain Homework

Begin your refined sketches by focusing solely on the terrain of each image. If your scenes don’t include much terrain, you can focus on any broad, simple base layer that feels appropriate. Use the render passes you created in 3D to mask out areas for easy painting and photobashing.

  • Finalizing Sketches Homework

Detail and finish your three black and white refined sketches. Once they are completed, choose one scene to move forward with for your final artwork. Now that the scene is laid out with various new photobashed and painted elements, consider where you may want to alter the base 3D to make the final paintover easier in the upcoming lessons.
