MASTER STUDIES - SEVEN SAMURAI

It was more challenging than I expected to abstract the compositions and make variations, keeping them as abstract as I could, because subconsciously you want to start adding value or details to start recognizing the object, but keeping it abstract forces you to think always in the bigger picture and how a simple silhouette can convey the surface meaning of the object or the landscape. Meanwhile when being in the "zone" of these exercise it was fun to come up with ideas, merging between different periods and places, and how a good composition works independently of the variations you made out of it.
