Solarpunk themed keyframes
black and white sketches

I went for keyframes type of thumbnails, mainly showing environments, how the technology (mostly based on solar balloons/mirrors and plants) meets new/old architecture, since it's a keyframe that could be in a cinematic I also wanted to have characters interacting with a subtitle line underneath. I think these first thumbnails sucks, but I found new ideas while doing it a ditched the ideas that does not work. I might do more of theses !

EDIT : 2nd batch of thumbnails (5 thumbnails) A lot "easier" because I had a fresh mind, and clues for the visual language used, also I watched a documentary while doing it so it helped me to find better shots I feel like!

SELF CRITIQUE : I had difficulties because for this world I would have usually design or do some explorations for the architecture etc, going all out skipping this stage was a new adventure but I tried to solve the problem differently, with some good ideas shaping up ! I also think that I lack camera shot variety and it hurts me when doing interesting keyframes. I will try to fix it ! Overall my composition might be a bit heavy in terms of elements, could be noisy here and there, I dont know if it's good or too much, to me at least it helped me visualise and find design keys

I wanted a very green-ish and hopeful environment, playing with very bright natural lights; I absolutely love the concept art work on Anthem especially for this kind of middle east city mixing a lot of godrays type of light, drappery everywhere, cables, foods, plants, overall a lot of life, I also wanted to play with color reflection on the floor like stained glass. I tried to listen to Steve by also not having too many references that could get me lost !
